Community Involvement

Participation |
Community
involvement in the Katfish Reach Project is essential. Local people can
provide expertise and skills in relation to native fish, their status,
importance and threats to them.
Indigenous people in particular, have a great deal
of knowledge and understanding of the
landscape and the environment which will be
invaluable for furthering our understanding of
native fish communities.
The successful rehabilitation of Katfish Reach is designed to enhance
community awareness, support and involvement in management, and provide
models which can be used elsewhere in the Murray-Darling Basin. |
